UAB Šilalės mediena is implementing project No. 03.3.2-LVPA-K-837-03-0039 "Implementation of technological eco-innovations" UAB Šilalės mediena. The project is being implemented under the measure No. 03.3.2-LVPA-K-837 "Eco innovations LT+" of the 2014–2020 European Union Funds Investment Action Programme, Priority 3 "Promoting the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises". The eligible costs of the project amount to EUR 1,813,846, it is partially financed from the European Regional Development Fund, and EUR 598,569 of support has been allocated for the implementation of the project.
Wood dryers with additional equipment sets, a 5 MW water heating boiler, a wood finger-gluing line, and a 6t lifting capacity forklift with an electric motor will be purchased.
After implementing the project "Implementation of technological eco-innovations at UAB "Šilalės mediena", it is planned to reduce the negative impact on the environment due to air pollution, ensure the rational use of production resources - wood raw materials, and start producing new, environmentally friendly products.
UAB Šilalės mediena has completed the implementation of project No. 03.3.1-LVPA-K-854-01- 0046 "Implementation of digital technologies in UAB Šilalės mediena", the aim of which is to make activities more efficient (increase productivity), reduce costs and increase competitiveness. During the implementation of the project, the technological processes of wood processing and wood pellet production were modernized.
Having implemented all the investments planned under the project, the company will increase labor productivity, production volumes of construction wood and wood pellets, and improve the yield from logs for production. In this way, wood raw materials will be used more economically. The project was funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the 2014–2020 European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme Priority 3 “Promoting the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” measure No. 03.3.1-LVPA-K-854 “Industry Digital LT”.

UAB Šilalės mediena is implementing project No. 03.3.1-LVPA-K-850-01-0091 "Modernization of wood processing processes of UAB Šilalės mediena", during the implementation of which a wood product control system, a digitally controlled wood product optimized length cutting system will be installed, and specialized forklifts with electric motors will be purchased.
The project will increase sales of certified high-quality products, produce an optimal amount of high-quality products of commercial dimensions from each calibrated log or board, and reduce operating costs. This will increase sales revenue, increase labor productivity, and reduce environmental pollution.
The project is implemented under the measure No. 03.3.1-LVPA-K-850 "Regio potential LT" of the 2014–2020 European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme Priority 3 "Promoting the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses". The eligible costs of the project amount to EUR 768,210, it is partially financed from the European Regional Development Fund, with EUR 268,873 allocated for implementation.
UAB Šilalės mediena is implementing project No. 04.2.1-LVPA-K-836-02-0009 "Installation of renewable energy resources at UAB Šilalės mediena", the aim of which is to reduce the share of electricity consumed in the company's technological processes and at the same time contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Upon implementation of the project, a 900 kW solar power plant will be installed.
UAB Šilalės mediena is one of the largest wood processing companies in Western Lithuania. The company produces construction timber of various dimensions, pallets, wood pellets, etc. A large part of the production is exported. A lot of electricity is consumed in the wood drying and processing processes. After the successful implementation of the project “Installation of renewable energy resources at UAB Šilalės mediena” and the construction of a solar power plant, a large part of the required electricity is expected to be obtained from renewable energy sources.
The project is implemented under the 2014–2020 European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme Priority 4 “Promotion of energy efficiency and production and use of energy from renewable sources” measure No. 04.2.1-LVPA-K-836 “Renewable energy resources for industry LT+”. The project is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund, with EUR 498,000 allocated for its implementation.
UAB "Šilalės mediena" successfully implemented the project "Acquisition of modern wood processing equipment", which was co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund support provided under the 2007–2013 Economic Growth Action Programme.
The project value is more than EUR 3.6 million, of which more than EUR 1.8 million are EU funds.
The goal of the project is to install new and modern wood processing equipment, increasing production efficiency.
The results achieved are: new, modern, efficient wood processing equipment was purchased, 31 new employees were hired. This will guarantee the successful operation of the company and an increase in labor productivity.
